Here's a story from KOB 4 in Albuquerque about myself (Johnny Chandler) picking up the largest pumpkin this year from the NM State Fair. The pumpkin ways almost 1000 pounds! The pumpkin will be on display at the Balzano Family Pumpkin Patch every weekend in October and the first weekend of November.

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham responds to Texas placing razor wire facing New Mexico (KRQE) https://www.krqe.com/news/new-mexico/gov-lujan-grisham-responds-to-texas-placing-razor-wire-facing-new-mexico/

Here is the statement from Governor Lujan Grisham regarding the razor wire:

"Gov. Abbott seems to be pushing to make Texas its own country without regard for his neighbors or the fact that Texas is already part of a great nation—the United States. If he doesn’t think that New Mexico is important to the overall well-being of Texas, then he must be forgetting about the Permian Basin and the oil industry that straddles our two states. I don’t see him laying concertina wire there.

Gov. Abbott’s latest political stunt at the border will have no meaningful impact on our nation’s broken immigration system. Only Congress can fix our federal immigration laws, and I implore Republicans in Congress to stop holding up the carefully negotiated, bipartisan agreement they are deliberately stalling in Washington at the expense of our entire nation."

As the owner of three businesses in Madrid, Hugh Hackett has prepared for what he described as a “speed bump in the retail road,” swapping plastic bags for paper ones.

A Santa Fe County ordinance will take effect Monday largely prohibiting the use of single-use plastic and expanded polystyrene products across retail stores and restaurants in unincorporated areas, meaning operators who use plastic bags will have to switch or face penalties.
