Trump Wins President
Former President is once again President-Elect Donald J. Trump. Eddy County showed up in force for Trump and Vance with the Trump/Vance ticket receiving 77% of the vote. Harris received 21% of the Eddy County Vote.
New Mexico Democrats Easily Win State
The race for President was closer in the state then some thought with Trump receiving 46% of the vote. Harris ultimately won the state with 52%
Senator Martin Heinrich may have won the state, but he lost Eddy County to Nella Domenici. Domenici recieved 74% of the Eddy County vote.
Representative Gabe Vasquez won a tight race, but only received 28% of the vote here.
Nothing else really worth mentioning for our county. Everything else was essentially decided in the primary election.

Eddy County Commission Makes Courthouse Decision
Eddy County Commissioners made an important decision on the future of the Eddy County Courthouse in downtown Carlsbad. The county commission voted to spend $15 million on remodeling the downtown courthouse.
This was considered option 3 and by far the most popular with the community. The courthouse will be remodeled and the commission stated they will wait 3 to 5 years to see how they can best address the fact the courthouse will be too small in the near future.
Weather
The weather has cooled down. The days of 90 degrees in Eddy County are over until the spring/summer of 2025. Highs in the 70's all week with Tuesday approaching 80 degrees. Lows in the 30's, but not expected to freeze at all this week.
