Roswell Still Cleaning Up from Historic Flooding
The City of Roswell is still cleaning up from the historic floods on Saturday, October 19th. US 285 is still closed in both directions approximately 13 miles south of Midway.
Detours have been set up on State Road 2. Motorists are asked to slow down on this two lane road and drive carefully. The commute from Carlsbad to Roswell is now about 45 minutes longer, depending on traffic.
We have friends and family that live in Roswell. Thankfully they are all safe, but some serious flooding and help for Roswell is needed.
Candace Barela with NMDOT says they are still conducting inspections on the US 285 bridge and will have more info once those are completed.
The Roswell Daily Record is offereing their E-edition for free for the time being as a result of the flooding.
They have done such a good job covering this tragedy in their community, that they are worth subscribing to. Give their newspaper a read and do business with one of their advertisers.
